About

I enjoy creating those special places in games like EQ2 and formally Rift.

Rift got me addicted to building in game homes.  And I’ve met many great people along the way who share my passion for art and that extreme addiction!  Rift has amazing graphics and an in game editor that is truly easy to use and manipulate objects.
I don’t play much Rift anymore, though.  It’s way too expensive to build dimensions the way I want.

In EQ2, it’s amazing what all can be done in one’s home and/or guild hall, including crafting, banking, selling, broker, fuel depots, harvestable depots, raid trophies, gear mender… the list is way too long to list here.  And now that “house actors” have been introduced, what fun!!

Many people would say, “But when you take players out of the cities, they look empty.”   I say to that remark, “I deal with people out in the world, killing, harvesting, grouping for dungeons and so on.  By the end of that, I want to relax in the privacy of my home or guild hall to craft, sell, etc. without battling over a craft station or trying to click on an auctioneer or mailbox while everyone else is in the way on their huge mounts casting stupid sounding spells, etc.”

In EQ2 there are so many items for homes that are crafted, harvested, looted, plundered or from quest rewards, it’s incredible.  For example, my carpenter toon has over 3,000 (yes, that’s three thousand) recipes.  It’s crazy awesome!  In addition to carpenter recipes, there are tinkering recipes and all the holiday event recipes totaling over 3,000 items that can be crafted.  No need to spend real cash on house items, except maybe the prestige homes themselves, but you don’t have to pay any in game upkeep on them, which is pretty darn cool.  And you can have up to 25 homes on one toon at no additional cost.  That’s a total of 175 houses per account!!  And you can have even more if you choose to buy more character slots in an account.
